Actor Tom Blyth is speaking out in defense of his girlfriend, Daniela Norman, after her Oscars night ensemble was hit with criticism online. Last week, Blyth recapped his experience at the 2026 Academy Awards with a carousel of photos on Instagram. Included in the mix were several shots of him and Norman, a fellow actor, attending Vanity Fair’s party at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art immediately following the March 15 ceremony. Norman wore a sheer blue gown for the occasion, prompting a cheeky caption from Blyth. “Feeling blessed by the excellent dogs, dawgs and nipples in my life,” he quipped. See-through gowns have become a red carpet staple in recent years, with stars like Dakota Johnson, Florence Pugh and Olivia Wilde among those embracing the trend. But that didn’t stop one of Blyth’s followers from offering a scathing comment about Norman’s appearance. “He looks handsome and elegant, but his girlfriend, on the other hand, looks incredibly vulgar, dressed completely inappropriately for the occasion,” they wrote. However, it didn’t take long for Blyth to fire back at the person. “Stfu,” he replied in the comments. “She wore a dress that she was excited by and she looked EXQUISITE in it.” Though Norman has yet to respond publicly to the criticism, she celebrated the end of Hollywood’s awards season with a series of images on Instagram that showcased her gown’s many details. “Eeeekk what a night,” she wrote in the caption. Blyth, whose credits include “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” and “Plainclothes,” and Norman have been dating for about two years. Though the couple haven’t said much publicly about their relationship, Blyth shared some insight into their behind-the-scenes connection in an interview with Bustle published in January. “My girlfriend [actor Daniela Norman] and I call it sleepover time,” he said. “And it’s so nice because especially in today’s world when we’re rushing around and we’re all on our phones all the time, sometimes we have to be like, ‘Hey, let’s just put our phones away for a few hours.’” “There’s no better feeling when you lay down to go to sleep and then you realize two hours have passed and you’ve just been doing pillow talk and just laughing,” he added. “Even if you’ve been with someone for a year or more, it makes you feel that feeling of when you’re a teenager, getting to know someone for the first time.” By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
