Stephen Miller drew mockery and anger with his latest boasts about Donald Trump and his defense of the Iran war.

The White House deputy chief of staff for policy waxed lyrical about the president’s handling of the conflict — amid growing criticism over the lack of a clear endgame, rising oil prices and the White House’s shifting justifications ― during an appearance Wednesday on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show.

“The United States has achieved its objectives even faster than anybody thought possible,” claimed Miller, who frequently heaps fawning praise on the president.

“President Trump was aware of and has calculated through every permutation and every degree of strategy,” he added, calling it “by far the most overwhelming victory based on the objectives.”

Critics on social media, however, noted how Trump himself has actually admitted to being stunned that Iran hit back by attacking other Middle Eastern countries, and how the president has struggled to secure the Strait of Hormuz, the waterway off the coast of Iran that is vital to the shipping of oil.

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) noted Trump’s own surprise at Iran’s retaliation by attacking neighboring countries, and said: “Trump officials routinely disrespect and look down on Fox viewers and Fox hosts. Trump officials routinely and blatantly lie to Fox viewers and Fox hosts.”

Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), a vocal Trump opponent, sarcastically wrote, “He’s a genius of course.”

He has calculated through every strategy? Just yesterday he said he had no idea the gulf countries would get bombed by iran or that the strait of hormuz would be closed. He certainly didn’t plan with our allies ahead of time so now they want no part of it.
