Fox News Host Has 'Mommy' Issues In James Talarico Attack

Fox News host Johnny “Joey” Jones said Democratic Texas Senate candidate James Talarico is relying on his “mama’s teat” for financial support in a bizarre attack on “The Big Weekend Show” Sunday. Panelists were playing off a segment about Gen Z embracing socialist values when Jones piped in. “And one thing, these far-left Democrats and socialists, you know, they wanna run massive government budgets, but they can’t quite manage their own — they’re still relying on mom and dad to pay their own bills,” he said. “One of them’s Texas Senate candidate James Talarico. He reportedly has one checking account and he shares it with his mommy. She even covered nearly $1,500 in moving expenses a few years ago when he was 32 years old.” “I did a little research on this and I found this troubling,” Jones continued after a detour on Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson. “And maybe I’m just a curmudgeon. James Talarico is trying to be the senator from the state of Texas — a state that prides itself on hard work, personal responsibility, individual liberty. None of those things exist if you’re relying on the government and mama’s teat for all your living expenses.” Jones was referring to the Democrat-targeting Free Beacon report that Talarico has an account containing $15,000 to $50,000 held jointly with his mother. While the article says no other checking account is listed, the disclosure form includes his combined $97,000-plus in salary from being a state senator and being self-employed, in addition to brokerage, mutual fund and retirement accounts. But Jones continued to pile onto Fox News’ concerted attacks against Talarico, who’s polling closely with scandal-plagued Republican candidate Ken Paxton. Many of the reports involve anti-LGBTQ comments that baselessly speculate about Talarico’s sexuality or gender. Jones said Talarico “might be the fakest of fake” merely for listing his parents’ home as the address for his consulting business. Co-panelist Tom Shillue blathered on about people on the left embracing a “socialist utopia” and about communist professors dominating college curricula before Jones resumed. “Thirty-two years old and asking your mama to pay for your moving expenses. Lord help me. I’d be ashamed,” Jones said. “If he’s reached hard times, that’s one thing. But to be 32 years old and in elected office or running for it? Shame on you, brother. Shame on you.” By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
