They know it’s finally hot outside and they want you to do something about it. As a Deputy Editorial Director for BuzzFeed’s shopping team, I love to get into the weeds of why a product’s worth the money by deep diving into customer reviews, and product-testing as much as possible. There's nothing like the heat and humidity to humble you in all kinds of ways you (conveniently) forgot about. Painful blisters from those sandals you thought you broke in already. A bra underwire that's rubbing you in all the wrong ways. And some smelly wafts from your pits smeared with your trusty deodorant that apprently is no longer so trusty. We've covered all kinds of body issues here that especially rear their ugly heads once it hits 90 so you can focus on the good stuff, like convincing your 12-year-old to go on the "scary" slide at the water park with you. Now, most deodorants I've tried in my decade as a shopping editor haven't lived up to my beloved Mitchum that I've been using since middle school. And this has stood up to it! It applies like a lotion and dries down flat, and has kept me dry all day...even in this rapid winter-to-summer hop in weather in New York City. But what I think is most important about this review, is that I have VERY sensitive skin that other deodorants have broken out into what once was more or less a chemical burn. Not with this! It isn't the cheapest deo out there, but I'm incredibly impressed with just how dry and nonsmelly it's left my pits! Carpe is a small biz specializing in sweat protection for different parts of your body. Promising review: "I was very hesitant at first to buy this. My sweat issues are HORRIBLE. I can be driving down the road and sweat will just run down my arms. Ruins all my shirts. Nothing helped, Secret, Dove, none of those clinical brands worked. Well Carpe, I am very satisfied. Use it right and it will work. I use it every night on clean dry underarms. I have used it wrong before and still kinda works but best results are when you use it by the directions! I don’t sweat much at all anymore! Nothing through my shirts. Good product!" —Jackie Get a two-pack from Amazon for $29.97 (available in nine scents). As always, this is a clinical-strength product, so make sure you do a spot test first (especially if you have sensitive skin)! And each box lasts two months! Promising review: "For anyone who might be a skeptic, please allow me to put you at ease. If you have hyperhidrosis, meaning it can be 9 degrees outside and you're still sweating under your arms, this product has the potential to change your life. I would sweat THROUGH a sport coat before noon. Enter the Sweat Block product. I've had it for three weeks, and it is life-changing. I DO NOT sweat under my arms anymore. I'm still on the original box that I bought three weeks ago. I had to write a review after I was cleaning the garage today in 85-degree heat...I was sweating through my shirt on my back...BUT NOT MY UNDERARMS. It is amazing!" —Frosty McGee Get a 10-pack from Amazon for $19.99 (also available in packs of two and three). The color adaptive formula is designed so one of two shades will work on any skin tone. My colleague Heather Braga swears by this stuff: "The color-adaptive formula is designed so one of two shades will work on any skin tone. I've personally tested this out and it has become an essential part of my daily routine. As a mom of two I gotta just say I am TIRED. So tired that I'm not sure what my face even looks like without bags under my eyes — that is, unless I've got the Catrice "Instant Awake" on. A little really goes a long way and has great coverage. I wore it throughout my sister's wedding weekend in Aruba and, despite the heat, it stayed perfectly in place. An incredible product for an even more incredible price... 10/10 from me. " Promising review: "Girlies with dark under-eyes, probs like myself, need to have a brightener! I used to spend $40 on Becca. This one is better, in my opinion!! It’s very pigmented and covers a blue hue in the corners of my eyes. It can be worn alone, but I prefer it under my concealer. It blends incredibly well. Very creamy and easy to apply. It will probably last me six months. A little dab goes a long way. It’s extremely buildable, too. I am just so in love. I’m a sucker for saving money, and this purchase just saved me over $30. I will recommend it to all my friends and family. Just BUY it!" —Caitlin Newcomb Get it from Amazon for $6 (available in four shades). Promising review: "Best foot callus remover I have ever used! I read a lot of the reviews before purchasing this product. Most callus removers I have purchased in the past were not very effective. So, I was encouraged by the reviews. I saw that a lot of reviewers mentioned being very careful not to leave it on longer than three or four minutes. My feet were the softest they had ever been. Love love love." —Cheri whisker Get it from Amazon for $14.99 (also available in an extra-strength formula). Promising review: "I have struggled with dry, cracked, gross feet since I was a teenager. No matter what I did, the skin on my heels was always dry and would crack so painfully that sometimes it was hard to walk. I had just resigned myself to the fact that it could never change. My feet are so, so soft, nearly all of the cracks and rough spots are gone and the last few cracks are almost totally healed. I have been putting this on twice a day and it’s changed everything. If you are on the fence about getting this, get it!!" —Halley B Fomin is a small business that specializes in travel soaps and wipes. Promising review: "Best thing ever. I work outdoors and I use this for my job. Doesn’t require lots of water either, but gets the job done. I actually bought it for my fishing trip and can’t wait to see how well it does." —Amazon Customer Get a three-pack from Amazon for $9.49 (available in single-scent packs, unscented, and larger packs). I bought these more than a year ago before I went on my first-ever cruise, but didn't need to use them. They've been kicking around the front pocket of my go-to travel backpack since, so I had them handy when I recently went on a driving-heavy (we're talking 1,600+ miles over five days) trip with my parents. My mom suffers from vertigo and it was really hitting her once we set out on the road. I remembered I had these, and she switched to the back seat and wore them the whole trip because they made such a big difference! Now, did it make driving up the side of the Colorado National Monument's Rim Rock Drive with 23 miles of switchbacks and soaring heights less scary? Eh. Idk. But it made it less woozy! (The drive is absolutely worth it, btw.) Promising review: "FLIGHT ATTENDANT APPROVED! They work. 100% of the time." —Jessica Get a set of two from Amazon for $8.53+ (available in six colors). Read more about tea tree oil and how it can help with acne at Mayo Clinic. Promising reviews: "I can’t say enough about this bath soap. It smells terrific, and when you’re done washing, you feel very clean. It helped clear up acne on my daughter's skin and works on athletes' feet as well. It also speeds up the healing of the skin from chafing under breasts and stomach, so if you sweat a lot, this is the product you want! I’m on my fifth bottle!" —AnnMarie Mason Rubbing alcohol-based products (like Tend Skin) can help prevent an infection of an ingrown, but can’t prevent an ingrown itself, according to Cleveland Clinic. This can be applied after shaving and waxing to prevent bumps and burns. It can also be applied at night independent of shaving to help clear any existing ingrown hairs and bumps. Promising reviews: "Works extremely well on sensitive skin and delicate shave areas. Used this after years of trying different products that irritated the sensitive shave areas and did not prevent razor burn and hair bumps. Noticeable difference after first use and no more ingrown hairs or chafing since implementing into shave routine." —Kindle Customer Get it from Amazon for $18.99+ (available in two sizes). Promising review: "My family's go-to treatment for poison ivy itchy rash, which someone seems to always get in the summertime." —georgiapeach "Much easier than using creams. It leaves much less product residue on the skin, so clothes can be worn quickly after use." —A. T. B. Get a three-pack from Amazon for $23.91. See a TikTok review of the shaver! For best results, the brand recommends stretching your skin with one hand, laying the blade flat, and then shaving against the grain. Promising review: "I tell everyone about this! No nicks, cuts, or razor bumps! The battery life is surprisingly long, too! I use this ALL over my body. Trust me when I tell you it saves you time and pain compared to a normal razor!! Seriously, never going back to a plastic one after this!" —Holly Promising review: "LOVE this bra so much! It is very, very soft, and the padding feels very natural. Bonus — it comes with a band extender, so if you're between sizes, I would recommend sizing down for the band, as you can use the extender if needed. The deep-V means it will work under lower-cut tops — which is what I was specifically looking for. I will definitely be buying more of this bra in other colors." —G.H. Cangahuala Get it from Amazon for $18.96+ (available in sizes XS–3X, including plus sizes, and 27 colors). Promising review: "So I decided to put these to the ultimate test for 4th of July underneath my white, semi-sheer swimsuit. I wore them out in the Florida heat in the ocean all day, and they did not budge or peel off. I thought for sure these would take skin off by the time I got home because I just couldn't believe they stayed on the entire day (humidity is real). I was able to remove them with ease. I washed them with warm water and soap and let them dry, and the next day, they were super sticky, like they were brand new out of the package again. Buying these forever." —Marisa Get it from Amazon for $19.79 (available in three sizes, five colors, and two styles). BuzzFeed editor Natalie Brown swears by these pasties! Check out her Nippies review to learn more. Promising review: "These are perfect for under dresses, even in the hot, humid summer. The pocket is perfect to slip my phone in so I can be hands-free. Great quality! I have two pairs, one black and one beige." —Amanda Martinez Get it from Thigh Society for $39+ (available in women's sizes XS–2XL, three lengths, and in 12 colors). My former colleague Ciera Velarde is a huge fan! Here's what she has to say: "I've used it for about 12 years now and it's the only thing that I can trust to prevent that dreaded chafing after a sweaty day of walking around. It glides on perfectly, it's unscented, and it doesn't melt away when you start to sweat. If it's a particularly hot day out, it can start to fade after a few hours, so just make sure to bring it with you to reapply. In addition to preventing chafing between my thighs, I've also applied it on my arms where my sports bra rubs against them when I run and it works like a charm!" Promising review: "Whoooo sometimes I feel as if a fire is going to start between my fat thighs, but with this stuff they just glide right on by each other, it has been a summer lifesaver. Only thing is you have to pack it on and reapply maybe four hours in, so bring it along for the ride. I will be buying again." —Ash This is a steeper price at $17 than the Gold Bond $6 stick, but if products with too much slip (aka, they're on the greasier side) give you the ick, this is probably your solution. I have super thick thighs that rub together when I walk or run, so I have to be proactive about chafe prevention. I've been using the Gold Bond stick for years with much success, but sometimes, when it's in the middle of summer, it feels a little greasy going on. (An aside, it's also great for preventing rubbing of sandal straps on your feet!) This feels *just right* going on. It has enough slip to easily apply right before I walk out the door but feels like a matte barrier. I also feel like I don't sweat it off after testing it since early May. I think I'm always going to need one of these in my medicine cabinet now! Megababe is a woman-owned small biz started by Katie Sturino with tons of personal care products, including the OG Thigh Rescue stick. Promising review: "If you’re looking for a cute Band-Aid that has flexible fabric, these are it! I only use flexible fabric Band-Aids because they’re way more comfortable and stay on better. Bonus that these are a cute design!" —Jessica Get a pack of 30 from Amazon for $3.77. Here's what BuzzFeed staffer Emma Lord has to say about them: "As a blister-prone human, I swear by these. A few years ago, before I invested in these running socks that prevent blisters, I got a blister on my big toe so unspeakably large and painful that I am cringing even TYPING about it, and no amount of rest from running seemed to heal it; it just kept coming back. I finally used one of these bandages, and the pain was virtually gone from the moment I put it on. It was also so airtight that nothing got inside, and it didn't loosen in the shower. You're supposed to take it off when it loses adhesive so it can come off gently without disturbing the blister if it hasn't fully healed yet. After using two of these in a row over the course of a week and a half, my blister was finally healed up enough that it stopped coming back." Promising review: "I got a big heel blister while breaking in some new work boots. It would have been painful to keep wearing the boots with a traditional Band-Aid. These Dr. Frederick's heel bandages work like magic. They are literally like a padded extra layer of skin. Put one on and you can't even feel the blister anymore. Could put the boots back on and go right back to work. And they fit so well, that towards the end of the healing period I forgot and even took a shower with it on and still stuck on fine. Like I say, like an layer of temporary skin." —Kevin Weatherman Get it from Amazon for $12.99+ (available in four varieties). Promising review: "This is a great product and gift for a beach lover. Works great and is a decent size for brushing away the sand after an amazing day at the beach! Going to buy it as a gift!! Easy to use and affordable!" —Sue Krauser Promising review: "I loved this setting powder, it blurred my pores and blended my makeup so well that even my husband noticed. Wow! I will be buying more before people find it and sell it all out, hehehe." —Charlotte Laim Dae is a small business that specializes in haircare and styling products. (It goes without saying that you don't need to lay your edges if you don't want to, but this is a handy option if you do.) Love the size of the styling wand!" —Completely happy customer! Promising review: "I have super frizzy, curly hair and live in New England, where we have super humid summers. I have been struggling to find a product that de-frizzes my hair without making it look oiled down, and this is it. I put it in my wet hair after washing, towel dried, and put my hair in a ponytail to go to work. My hair was frizz free all night — even working outside in high humidity. People even asked if I did something to my hair! This is an amazing product for the price. Absolutely buying again and would recommend to anyone with a frizz issue." —Marissa Get it from Amazon for $4.22 (also available in a two-pack). You simply apply to clean, dry, hair-free skin, and press firmly. It's good for 8–12 hours of wear (so, a fun day at the beach!). They're waterproof, hypoallergenic, cruelty-free, vegan, latex-free, and paraben-free. Promising review: "I came across these flat socks at CVS and was curious. I placed them in a pair of old Adidas that I was about to toss from the stink. I removed the liners of the old socks and replaced them with flat socks. I did not wear socks with them after I installed them. The shoes no longer smell! It’s amazing! I ordered three more pairs on Amazon. Goodbye, socks! When I fear they may start to smell — I just remove them and toss them in the wash. If you can’t afford them for every pair of sockless shoes, they are easily moveable from shoe to another. I highly recommend these washable insoles!" —Kindle Customer Get them from Amazon for $10 (available in two sizes). Read more about lidocaine and pain relief at Cleveland Clinic. It works, is nonirritating and washes off well in the shower." —Christmas shopper Get it from Amazon for $9.99+ (available in three sizes). Promising review: "Great powder and smells nice. Doesn’t have that super baby powder smell. It keeps me fresh and dry after showers and in my hot room! No chafing, fellow big thigh peeps!" —Violetta Cantos It has a ~subtle~ vanilla scent, melts makeup without water, and doesn't leave behind residue. It's paraben-, sulfate-, phthalate-, gluten-, and talc-free. Promising review: "If you want a soap that gets you clean and leaves you smelling damn good all day, even through sweat, this is the one. When I scrub with Mando, that cedarwood scent lingers for a good 24 hours or more, even after being in the shop working on cars and sweating my ass off all day. It's just strong enough to cut through light grease and oil, but if you're REALLY filthy, you might want to step up to something stronger. These bars also don't seem to last quite as long as other bar soaps, but the benefits definitely outweigh that single negative." —matt Get it from Amazon for $14.99 (available in three scents). Promising review: "As a marathon runner and ICU nurse who works 13-hour shifts. I really like this product and feel it works very well to prevent chafing. I also really like the convenience of the stick and its consistency (not too sticky, not too hard, not too soft), which makes it easy to apply and makes it last a long time. I have used many different kinds of chafe sticks/balms, and this is my new favorite one. Worth the price tag." —Daddy, Mama, Mila, & Baby Jake Promising review: "This gel is a lifesaver for me. It's a lightweight, cool, soothing gel that moistens my nasal passages at night allowing me to get restful sleep. It was recommended to me by my allergy doctor. I use it every night without fail. Try it and see!" —Jeanie Read more about nasal rinses and allergies at Mayo Clinic. Promising review: "I seldom write reviews but this nasal spray deserves its five stars. My nose was SO stopped up I couldn’t breathe through it for several days. When this arrived I put it to the test and within 30 seconds I could breathe. Magic! This stuff would be worth $100 a bottle. I would reapply it every hour or so to ensure coverage. It is really lightweight and doesn’t feel like a thick sunscreen. It had a nice, subtle smell that wasn’t overpowering. I am happy I got so many bottles to last the summer, and the slim packaging was nice to take in a bag. I will be getting it again!" —Savannah Get it from Amazon for $8.88+ (available in multipacks, SPF 100, and SPF 30 versions). Check out a TikTok of the mosquito-repelling bracelets in action. Promising review: "I moved last year from Southern California to North Carolina. Bugs of all types have always been attracted to me but the amount of bites I got last summer was WILD. Someone gave me one of these types of bracelets to use one day and it seemed to work SOOOOOO I decided to buy myself an arsenal to prepare for this summer. I read the reviews and about 99% of them had great results. I've only used this bracelet twice but both times I was outside and un-touched. Delivery was very quick so that was a plus. I'm not fond of the smell, I'm hyper sensitive to smells, but I'd rather have the odor than being chewed alive." —Tracey Agopian Promising review: "My husband and I travel a lot and take a number of prescription drugs. I tell everyone about the sun soother! Really, Burt’s Bees should pay me. It rubs into skin like lotion so you don’t feel greasy and can immediately put on clothes after application. A little goes a long way! It smells good without being overpowering (and I’m picky about scents!). Most importantly, it works! I’ve had everything from slight burn to looks-like-a-lobster-feels-like-fire and this sun soother has eliminated the pain/itch and drastically reduced the eventual peel. Highly recommend!" —jlgentr3 Promising review: "This is one of those things that I wish I'd found years earlier. I've suffered from mortifying stress-induced under-boob sweat for most of my adult life. Also, I'm a lifelong Seattle girl who gets upset when it's warmer than 65 degrees outside. So when I stumbled upon this product, I was curious enough to buy a small pack. And yes, I've come back for MORE! For real, I won't put on a bra without one of these liners now.
