President Donald Trump raged about rigged polls and reports he was goaded into war with Iran by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a Monday morning Truth Social post.

Trump seemed to be on the defense as he lashed out online one day after an NBC News Decision Desk Poll revealed his approval rating had sunk to a second-term low of 32% amid criticism around the conflict in the Middle East and his handling of inflation.

Swearing that Israel “never talked me into the war with Iran,” he claimed the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks carried out by Hamas “added to my lifelong opinion that IRAN CAN NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON.”

“I watch and read the FAKE NEWS Pundits and Polls in total disbelief,” he wrote while rehashing his favorite gripe. “90% of what they say are lies and made up stories, and the polls are rigged, much as the 2020 Presidential Election was rigged.”

Trump then glowingly compared the nation’s military clash with Iran to the mission to remove Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in January.

“Just like the results in Venezuela, which the media doesn’t like talking about, the results in Iran will be amazing,” the president boasted. “And if Iran’s new leaders (Regime Change!) are smart, Iran can have a great and prosperous future!”

Trump took a far more threatening approach while addressing Iranian leaders online the day prior, vowing to “knock out every single” one of the nation’s power plants and bridges if leaders don’t accept the terms of the United States’ current proposal.

While the end of the two-week ceasefire agreement is approaching, The New York Times reports negotiations will resume this week with Vice President JD Vance and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran’s speaker of the Parliament, leading the talks.
