President Donald Trump on Thursday took aim at his predecessor.

But he only hit himself.

“A year ago, our country was an embarrassment,” Trump declared at an event in Las Vegas. “All over the world, they laughed at us.”

But there’s just one problem with his claim: One year ago was April 2025, and the president of the United States at that time was Trump.

Trump also said those people around the world “don’t laugh anymore.”

That may not be true, either.

A video from last autumn showed several European leaders laughing over how Trump keeps confusing Albania with Armenia ― something that happened more than once during his previous term as well.

Last summer, California Gov. Gavin Newsom said he’s seen other leaders laughing at Trump.

“I’ve had the privilege of meeting a lot of foreign leaders,” Newsom said at a Politico event. “They’re laughing behind his back.”

Trump’s latest comments also had people laughing at him on social media:
