Jennifer Siebel Newsom has an important message for conservative women following the firings of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Attorney General Pam Bondi. “No woman is safe in Trump’s Republican Party,” the First Partner of California said in a video on Instagram. Siebel Newsom, co-founder of the California Partners Project, a gender rights nonprofit, began her video by stating that she wasn’t a fan of Noem or Bondi, but wasn’t surprised when they were the first two people pushed out of this administration. “The conservative women that Trump handpicks who align themselves with an agenda that controls women, restricting our rights, limiting our autonomy and pushing us back into the straitjacket of femininity that is only in service of men, there’s a familiar pattern here. Women are brought in, packaged Mar-a-Lago style, and lifted up as long as they commit to wholeheartedly serve the interests of the patriarch at the top,” she said. Siebel Newsom explained that although Noem and Bondi appeared to have power, it never came with any “job security and protection.” “There’s no secure place inside this handpicked patriarchal body that systemically disrespects, devalues and discriminates against women and girls,” she said. Siebel Newsom also referenced Trump’s behavior towards women and allegations of sexual misconduct that have been made against him. “When you align yourself with that value system, with a leader who has publicly devalued women, degraded them and been found liable of abusing women, well, guess what? You’re going to be the first to go,” she said. “Your power is only temporary, and ultimately, they will come for you,” Siebel Newsom added. “That’s the unfortunate truth for all women. No woman is safe in Trump’s Republican Party – unless she has enough wealth or the ability to buy her own job security and safety.” By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
