...and not a single one will blast an irritating tune at you for hours on end.

We got my daughter this dollhouse for Christmas, and it was a big hit with both of my toddlers (pictured above, right). It didn't take my husband long at all to put it together (maybe 20 minutes?), since all the accessories and furniture are ready to go out of the box. The attention to detail is incredible — I personally cannot get over the hanging light fixtures and the modern "paintings" on the walls. My son was so excited to see that it came with a toddler tower that looks just like his! The dollhouse comes with a family of four wooden peg dolls, but my kids quickly also "moved in" any nearby toy figures. I can see them both enjoying this for many years.

Promising review: "Such a beautiful and well-made dollhouse! It took a little while to assemble, but the directions were clear, and it wasn’t difficult. The quality of the wood and details are impressive — it feels like a real piece of furniture, not just a toy. My son loves it and will sit and play for long stretches of time. A wonderful, timeless toy that looks great too." —Tanya Frane

I have owned this table and chairs for two years and it's held up to all kinds of toddler wear-and-tear. My youngest is very into coloring and is constantly drawing *all* over them with markers and Crayons (despite my best efforts), but it wipes clean in seconds with a Magic Eraser. I've used it to set up fun holiday activities, to stage visits from our Elf on the Shelf, and, of course, to give them snacks that I really do not want eaten on my couch. I love that it's aesthetically pleasing and will work with the decor of any room if we move it around the house. Additionally, the edges of the table are rounded and have protected my kids from getting *too* hurt when they inevitably crawled. I'm a big fan!

Promising review: "Wonderful quality. Product packaging was amazing and the directions made assembly incredibly easy. Love having all the tools and parts so well labeled." —Mary

Get it from Amazon or Lalo for $325 (available in two table colors and five chair colors) and grab the coloring pages for $27.99 (available in eight styles).

My kids (aged 1.5 and 3.5) both got a pair of Vans for Hanukkah this year and were SO excited! It might be because I really hype up new shoes (and why shouldn't I?), but they were thrilled. They're easy to slip on to toddlers who simply don't know how to sit still *and* they look SO cute and stylish!

Promising review: "I got these light pink Vans in size 3.5 for my 13-month-old daughter, and they fit her really well with just enough room to grow. They’re super easy to slip on, and she doesn’t fuss when wearing them — which is a win! We love how they look and so far, they’ve held up great. Definitely recommend for little walkers!" —Rebecca B.

Get them from Amazon for $45 (available in toddler sizes 2–10, little kid sizes 10.5–13.5, big kid sizes 3.5–7, and 16 styles).

Promising review: "This KidKraft Laundry Set is still going strong after starting with a 3/almost 4-year-old that's getting ready to turn 5, who is NOT easy on things. It has 'washed' MANY loads of her baby dolls, LOL dolls, Barbie dolls and teddy bears clothing, has 'washed' several stuffed animals, ironed anything she felt needed to be ironed including Play-Doh... at one point I even found that she had stashed her favorite snack foods in both washer and dryer with a stuffed animal blocking the little windows just to keep others from getting her food. I think it's a wonderful play set that's built very well, has withstood the antics of a toddler." —Janice

The book is recommended for ages 5–8, but when my son was nearly 3 years old, he was already cackling at how silly it is!

Promising reviews: "Our 4-year-old is always pestering us to 'let me see the pictures' of her books every night, making storytime drag on forever, so I thought this would be great to chill her out at bedtime. NOT! She laughs so hard she gets the hiccups and has tears rolling down her face by the time we're two-thirds through the book! What a perfect idea!" —Straight Outta the Suburbs

"As a teacher, I love this book. I’ve gifted this book so many times to ages 3–6, and everyone who’s ever sat to read it can’t help but laugh when your child’s giggles away. Truly a fun book to read. Highly recommend!" —lauren kane

Promising review: "The kids have a lot of fun building bridges and other structures in the bathtub! Great for kids who are past the baby toys but still enjoy a good bath!" —Terry Adinolfi

Promising review: "This set was so much fun, with a great range of colors for my toddler to play with. She loves mixing the colors and letting her creativity run wild. The texture is very soft and easy to play with, even for a 3-year-old. Overall, a great value." —Gb

It comes with a Barbie, three Play-Doh cans, a pre-made Play-Doh pattern sheet, a ruffle maker tool, and more.

Promising review: "I got this for my niece for her birthday; I think she was turning 6 and she absolutely loves it. It's great for Barbie and Play-Doh lovers. She was able to create so many cute fashion moments with the Play-Doh. It was easy to clean up. It was a great value for the money because the Barbie is reusable so you can just add additional Play-Doh. I would absolutely recommend to anyone who loves Barbie or Play-Doh and making fashion outfits." —Michelle

Tovla is a small business that makes kids' cooking products. My son has these, and I'm honestly surprised at how well they cut. They aren't sharp to the touch, but they easily slice through fruits, veggies, and toast! He loves feeling like he's helping in the kitchen, and it keeps him busy so we can get the rest of the meal done at the same time. He often uses them to cut bell peppers, which stain the knives a little bit. I simply toss 'em in the dishwasher and they come out good as new!

Promising review: "Highly recommend these for safety, sturdiness, quality, and life skill reasons. These have been amazing for practicing cutting for my daughter. She’s been using them almost two years now since she was 2 years old. A must-purchase if you’re looking to introduce a practical life skill especially to a young child!!" —Ciandra

I like that they don’t stick out too much, but you can tell you’re wearing them. The gift box comes with a little pouch. Which makes them feel that much more special. They are a little bit bigger than average studs. But I like that. Definitely recommend!" —M. Emery

Both my toddler and preschooler love them, although the portion size is generous for my younger one. The bone holders are hilarious, and the yogurt we use looks exactly like a dino, as expected after freezing. These work great and are really fun shapes, so I highly recommend." —TXFan

Former BuzzFeed editor (and father of two) John Mihaly has these blocks:

"These are perhaps the most beautifully designed and interesting set of wooden blocks that I've ever encountered. I liked them so much I bought them way before my kid would even be able to use them. Having nearly failed my astronomy course in college, I figured this would be a great way for us to learn all about the constellations together as I pretend to know what I'm talking about. So when my kid asks, 'Dad, where is Orion's belt?' I won't have to answer, 'Around his waist.'"

The set comes with 12 cute animal pattern cards, 12 colored paper trays, and 144 double-sided foam adhesives.

Promising review: "This craft kit is easy for a toddler to manage and creates cute animals. The double-sided adhesive works very well." —Beachy1

These cushions have had SO many uses in my home. For starters, my sister has slept on them as a bed when visiting for a bit, my kids (obviously) lounge on them when watching TV, and we've used them for imaginative play (a cash register stand, to build forts, as a base for Magna-Tile builds, etc). Every parent in my life swears by this, so if you have enough room in your home, definitely consider ordering one. The cushion covers are machine washable (a must for any item a child is going to lounge on) and come in SO many colors you'll absolutely be able to find one that matches your decor.

Promising review: "I bought these for my 4-year-old nephew and 2-year-old niece for when they come to visit. Right out of the box, they were excited and loved tossing them up in the air and watching them fall. I was amazed at how long it kept their interest and the different ways they played with them. They dropped them off the stair landing, off the couch, in the yard, and held them behind them to expand as they ran. My niece liked 'dancing' with them and twirling it around. Good colors and very well made. Hours of fun and the best $7 I ever spent on a toy!" —hiker0811

These tend to slip, so if you do want to use them on smooth surfaces, grab some grip tape.

Promising review: "I purchased these as a gift for my grandchildren's obstacle course. They are well-made, and I think they will hold up very well. More importantly, I discovered that they are fabulous for seniors who are having balance problems! They would be a great addition to any therapy. My toddler is forever eager to help my husband build anything and everything, so this was a no-brainer stocking stuffer for him this past Christmas. The second he sees Dad's tools out, he runs to grab his own measuring tape to get involved. The bird's face on the measuring tape is funny to me because he looks as tired as I feel. All jokes aside, this little item has been great for quick measurements and showing my son how to use a level! It's super kid-friendly, and I'll absolutely keep it in mind to suggest to other parents with tykes who want to help/learn about building!

Promising review: "My grandson was forever playing with his dad's metal measuring tape, so I purchased this for his birthday. He loves it and it can't cut or harm him. Great purchase for curious kids who want to be like dad!" —Barb A.

Promising review: "A must-have. My 2-year-old son is obsessed. Always asks to play the 'find you' game LOL. Then we play it and every option on the game he actually thinks really hard then says 'come on mommy' and runs me through the house to find the object. Highly recommended from a mom of four." —Britney bansley

Promising review: "Scissor skills are important both in and of themselves and because they strengthen the hand muscles to be used for learning to write. My 4-year-old LOVES this book. We received it this week, and she has used it for a couple of hours each day. Many of the pages are cutting things out and putting them together (a four-scoop ice cream cone, a pizza with pepperonis, the components to build a house or a car, puzzles). We've used tape or glue to put the components together. This book is interesting enough to have caught the attention of my older children as well, although I make them let her do the cutting. :D Would make a great gift as it is so unique." —Mom of 7

After our first play kitchen fell apart, we knew we wanted to invest in one that was sturdier and, honestly, cuter! My husband and I loved that this one had so much storage (the oven, the bins, the cabinets) for us to stow away all of the toy food we've somehow accumulated. I also appreciate that it doesn't make any sounds, so my little ones have to use their imaginations instead. Truly, no one loves this kitchen more than my two toddlers! They spend so much time chefing it up! Not to mention it's been great encouragement to get my youngest to stand. We like it so much that we also bought the matching fridge.

Promising review: "This play kitchen is a big hit in our house. Assembly does take some time, so plan ahead, but the instructions were manageable. Once assembled, it’s solid, looks great, and keeps kids entertained for hours." —Kelly

Several reviewers said they used this tape on airplane tray tables to entertain their kids while traveling. PlayTape is a small business!

Promising review: "I was so excited to gift this tape to a 4-year-old boy and to see how it was. It's very light and stuck to a table very nicely. It left no residue on the table and could tear easily to make a turn in the road. You could put this anywhere in your house and not be worried about damage. Very cool!" —Courtney S.

The keepsake storage trunk includes four tops, three skirts, three bracelets, three rings, necklace, sticker sheet, choker, three headbands and a tiara. The costumes fit sizes 4–6x. Recommended for ages 3 and up. I've gifted this to a handful of toddlers at this point and it is *always* a big hit!

Promising review: "This is a great dress up set. As such, I had little expectation that the material quality would be that of the one dress I purchased for my niece that cost as much, alone, for this entire trunk. Now that we have expectations addressed, let's talk about what you get. There's four outfits that are separate tops and skirts so they can dress up as the character or potentially mix and match. There are accessories by way of bracelets, headbands, and rings. My niece loved it. She started trying it out immediately and I kept my award for best uncle and all around best gifter." —oldwalt

We have these in my home, and my kids love 'em. My son shows them off to any child that visits our home and, honestly, I can see why! They're squishy, have different materials inside of them to engage with, and are easy to clean (rinse them!). They're ideal for ages 2 and up, but my 1.5-year-old has definitely played with them a bit as well alongside her brother.

Promising review: "This is an amazing buy. My sensory-seeking kiddo loves them. They are very durable and of great thickness. Super fun for not only the kids, but I find dad playing with them as a stress relief ball every now and then, too. They are the perfect size for the intended age, and the stickiness is perfect. If they get a little dull, we rinse them off in the sink and let them air dry. We like the translucent color of them to see the items inside very well." —Miss C
