KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Boonville, Missouri casino was robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday afternoon the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) says.

MSHP says that just after 2 p.m., two suspects entered the Isle of Capri Casino. One of the suspects was armed with a rifle, the other with a handgun.

From there, the suspects are accused of stealing an unknown amount of money and left the scene in what the highway patrol is calling a tan, older model Ford Taurus.

That vehicle was later found abandoned, and MSHP says it’s believed the suspects left from there in another vehicle.

MSHP Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) has now taken over the investigation with the assistance of the Boonville Police Department, the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI.

Anyone with any information regarding the robbery is asked to call MSHP Troop F at (573) 751-1000. MSHP says that information is subject to change, as the investigation is still in its early stages.
