Former Homeland Security official Miles Taylor — who penned the “anonymous” insider anti-Donald Trump op-ed during the president’s first term — has claimed CNN’s diehard Trump-loving commentator Scott Jennings sings a very different tune about POTUS when off-camera.

Taylor made the allegation after clashing with Jennings over Trump’s Iran war on CNN’s “NewsNight” on Tuesday, writing on X, formerly Twitter:

“You know who’s a perfect metaphor for the GOP? Scott Jennings. A pundit who mocks Trump with us during commercial breaks — but fawns over Trump when the camera is rolling. Brave enough to speak out… in the green room.”

New York Post correspondent Lydia Moynihan pushed back on Taylor’s claim, writing:

“I have been on CNN many times with Scott Jennings. He is a man of his convictions and his political beliefs are completely sincere, genuine, and deeply rooted in what he believes is best for American.”

But former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) disagreed, replying:

“YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING??!! I’ve been on cnn too and while i won’t reveal behind the scenes details, I’ll just say i disagree.”

Jennings has not publicly responded to Taylor’s allegation.

The CNN commentator has previously appeared alongside Trump, including joining him on stage at a rally in Warren, Michigan, in April 2025.
