Two OKC-area Walmart Neighborhood Market stores to close for renovations

Walmart Neighborhood Market shoppers who frequent the locations in Edmond and Norman will have to make alternate plans for approximately four weeks in April. Walmart announced in a press release on its website that it would temporarily close the main sales floor while keeping pharmacies and fuel stations open at the locations. The stores that will be closed for renovations include the location in Edmond at 1101 NW 164th St. and in Norman at 3571 W Rock Creek Road. Walmart said the stores chosen for the remodel were selected in part because there are other Walmart locations nearby. Associates at the affected stores will be helping with the remodels, "setting up new fixtures, organizing products, and preparing the store to welcome customers back." Walmart said that renovations will vary by store, with the end goal being "creating a faster path to a better experience." Stores may be updated with wider aisles and new layouts for easier navigation, brighter spaces, enhanced online ordering pickup areas, pharmacy improvements, upgraded checkout areas and areas to help associates better assist customers. "Together, these updates are designed to make shopping faster, simpler, and more comfortable from start to finish," Walmart said.
