Sometimes I feel personally called out by the posts I write. I'm here to tell you all that I *know* I own too many candles, and that I probably shouldn't encourage myself to buy more with extra candle research (i.e. personal-shopping-called-work), but believe me, it's for ALL our benefit. In my time, I've found that large candles are a lot harder to come by than you'd think. Finding candles powerful enough to fill open-layout spaces with aroma, candles big enough to last you a full season, and high-quality large candles in vessels you'll actually use again, are all ways to take our shared "we own too many candles" condition and remind ourselves...it's more than worth the sacrifice. If your life goal is having your home smell like the inside of an Anthropologie, it's surprisingly achievable thanks to this beloved candle. Capri Blue's Volcano candle has basically been universally adored for two decades, and it continues to top charts thanks to the vibrant tropical citrus top notes combined with warm sugared fruit. Dang it...I think I'm about to impulse buy this one for myself (again). Worth it. No regrets.

Even folks who say they typically don't like sweet candles (raises hand) find themselves drooling over this one (raises hand, again, higher). It'd be honest and truly embarrassing for me to write about candles without featuring the ICON that is Hinoki Fantôme. Boy Smells took persnickety sniffers like myself and said, "I promise these scents won't be too perky for you." Folks who aren't into fruity florals finally have a place to go where they know every option is a safe, musky call. As its name suggests, this smells like hinoki, combined with cardamom and smoked amber. Although I could personally rave about any of the brand's scents, Hinoki's particular fragrance range has made it an online sensation. This is a classic woodsy pick, but it's more earth-toned than Fraser fir (which, ironically, makes it truly evergreen). Use this year-round – it has a 100-hour burn time. Make it your go-to scent. Remind yourself that sometimes boys smell good.
